At PillaGermany , we've made it our mission to offer shooters the best possible vision. With high-quality Pilla eyewear, manufactured in collaboration with Zeiss in Italy, you get top-of-the-line quality that makes all the difference on the shooting range and in competition.
Matthias Reichhardt
I am Matthias Reichhardt , founder and CEO of PillaGermany.
As a hunter, falconer, and gunsmith, I bring craftsmanship and a passion for precision. In shooting sports, I am primarily at home with the shotgun – whether skeet, trap, or sporting .
In addition, I am involved as a C-level coach for competitive sports in the German Shooting Federation (DSB) to support shooters in further developing their technique and performance.
Shooting is deeply rooted in my family: My parents are competitive shooters themselves, and my brother is a member of the state trap team .
At PillaGermany, I'm responsible for product advice, testing, and our online shop . My experience as an active shooting sports competitor directly informs the advice I give – ensuring that every customer finds the lenses that perfectly suit their needs.
Together with my partner Johanna, I run PillaGermany with the goal of offering our customers the best possible equipment and personal advice.
Johanna Schneider
I am Johanna Schneider , co-founder and managing director of PillaGermany.
My passion for shooting was sparked by my partner, Matthias Reichhardt, who took me along to training sessions from the very beginning. Since then, my enjoyment of it has steadily grown. Since 2024, I've also been a passionate hunter – something that my regular shooting practice greatly benefits from.
I originally trained as an industrial mechanic. The technical understanding and manual skills from this profession still help me in everyday life and at PillaGermany.
Besides hunting and shooting sports, I have other passions: For many years I have been actively dancing in a carnival club and for three years I have also been on stage as a model for a bridal fashion store.
My animals are a particularly important part of my life. I am the proud "dog mom" of my Labrador Retriever, Alma aus der Klingenquelle . Alma comes from our own kennel, which I founded together with my mother and run with great dedication. We also keep a small beekeeping operation – work that grounds me and provides a valuable balance.
At PillaGermany, I'm the heart and soul behind the scenes: I take care of organization and shipping, ensuring our customers receive their orders reliably and quickly. Together with Matthias, I combine my passion for hunting with his expertise in shooting sports – creating a unique blend of competence, trust, and personal service at PillaGermany.
Born from a love of shooting
Pilla was born out of a personal need. We are a sports-enthusiastic family who loves hunting and shooting sports. Unable to find suitable shooting glasses, we decided to develop our own. We understand that lens technology is the most important element of eyewear. When this is combined with an eyewear frame design that makes you feel like you're not even wearing glasses, you know you've created something special.
This was the original brief from 28-time World Champion George Digweed: "Make me a pair of glasses that feel like you're not wearing any." When we set to work, we always start from this simple perspective. Glasses must enhance an athlete's performance, not hinder it.
We have teamed up with ZEISS to offer the best in lens science. ZEISS has been producing optical perfection since 1846 and is considered an international leader in optics. Pilla is proud to develop the best products in the world together with a company that shares the same beliefs.
